Cookie Policy
1. About this policy
This cookie policy explains how the Ashcourt Portal at ashcourt.app uses cookies and similar technologies. It is written to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (“PECR”), the UK GDPR and ICO guidance on the use of cookies.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to recognise your device, remember information about your visit, and keep you signed in. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and pixel tags.
Cookies can be:
- First-party — set by the site you are visiting (in this case ashcourt.app); or third-party — set by another domain.
- Session — deleted when you close your browser; or persistent — remaining on your device until they expire or are deleted.
3. Cookies currently used
The public homepage of the Ashcourt Portal currently sets no cookies of its own. We do not use any analytics, marketing, advertising or tracking cookies on the homepage.
The page loads the Montserrat font from Google Fonts. This font is requested directly from fonts.gstatic.com and Google’s servers may receive your IP address as part of that request, but no cookies are set by this load.
4. Cookies used by hosted systems
When you sign in to a system hosted on the portal (for example Intercompany Matching, Cashflow Processing or Month End Controller), strictly necessary cookies will be set so that the system works correctly:
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session ID | Identifies your authenticated session so you stay signed in as you move between pages | First-party, strictly necessary | Session, or until sign-out |
| CSRF token | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | First-party, strictly necessary | Session |
| Remember-me / persistent session (optional) | Keeps you signed in across browser restarts where you have asked us to | First-party, functional | Up to 30 days |
This table will be kept up to date as systems are added to the portal. Each cookie listed above falls within the “strictly necessary” exemption in regulation 6(4) of PECR or is set on the basis of your specific request (such as “remember me”), and so does not require prior consent.
5. Cookies we do not use
The Ashcourt Portal does not use any of the following:
- Advertising or marketing cookies.
- Cross-site tracking cookies.
- Third-party social media cookies.
- Behavioural profiling cookies.
We have no plans to introduce these. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (such as analytics), we will update this page and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any such cookies are set, in line with PECR.
6. Managing cookies
Because the portal currently only sets strictly necessary cookies, there is no on-site cookie banner to control. You can still manage cookies through your browser settings:
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to portal systems and will break key features.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this cookie policy whenever the cookies in use change, or when there are material changes in law or guidance. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will always show the latest version.
